Telefault
DSFL - Distribution System Fault Locator
The
Telefault DSFL is designed to accurately
locate faults on high voltage feeders which
consist of unbranched overhead lines that
can include short lengths of cable. The
system can give extremely useful results on
more complicated networks including some
branches.
Inexpensive
Easy
to Operate
Precise
The
Telefault DSFL uses the
properties of traveling
waves initiated by a
fault to determine the
position of the fault.
The preferred location
method depends on the
measurement of current
transients on the
secondaries of current
transformers. This
method is applied at
points on the system
where current
transformers are
available. When no
current transformers are
available it may be
possible to use
different transducers to
get suitable signals
from capacitor voltage
transformers.
